Energica is headquartered in Modena - the heart of Italy's “Motor Valley”.  Founded in 2014 as a spin-off of CRP Group - an Italian industrial group specialising in advanced additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping and high precision machining services for the motorsport (F1), automotive, aerospace, medical, and marine sectors.

Hand built.  Almost all systems designed and built by (or in part by) Energica, including the battery, motor, inverter, and vehicle control unit (VCU).  Production numbers aren’t public but probably no more than 6,000 globally (at EO2022).

Race proven tech.  Energica were the single manufacturer for 2019-2022 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup (electric MotoGP).  The “Ego RS” roadgoing model has identical performance to the MotoE race bike.  Ducati is now series manufacturer for MotoE.

An Energica Eva Ribelle RS races Indian, KTM, Ducati, and Harley-Davidson bikes in the Superhooligan series.  Usually placing top 6 in a field of over 20 history was made on 11th Sept 2023 with the first ever podium for an electric racing against combustion bikes - rider Stefano Mesa finished in second-place.

Energica could be considered the premium electric brand having the highest specification and performing bikes, all of which are capable of DC fast charging.

New bikes start around NZ$50k, there are options including premium upgrades like Öhlins suspension and carbon wheels.

Used bikes are available, occasionally under half the cost of new.
